I have been passionate about making women specific accessories for kiteboarding for years as well as getting more colorful graphics on the kites I fly. I’d been painting them myself and was honored to see CORE put out their first new color schemes with a pop of my signature colors on their newest Section Kites. Last year I solved the problem of not having colorful hats to wear while kitesurfing. I’ve designed straps to hold them down and are now in home production. For a few years now my daughter and I were working on the logo ( I know, we were slow) Sadly, she’s been Family Court kidnapped, but instead of tanking the project, I was more determined to press forward. There are a lot of bad people in this world, but I won’t let that stop me from having fun and sharing the stoke of this sport so many of us enjoy. I’m really happy with how the project turned out. When she and I are reunited, I look forward to teaching her how I moved past these torturous times. I hope she sees many people wearing these hats and knowing we will be ok despite being kept apart by violent force and racketeering criminal activity in the Family Court system. This business has a very personal story behind it, that I wanted to share. It was supposed to be a Mother-Daughter endeavor. My daughter is an amazing artist, and was working on the design. Big thank you to Hannah Marie, a graphic designer in Santa Cruz, for helping me with the beautiful logo and to Dale at Santa Cruz Embroidery who encouraged me to press forward on my own.
