I am an experienced horse trainer successful in producing quality, well rounded pleasure types. I worked closely with a New Zealand Grand Prix trainer, studying under many capable people, riding difficult horses, re-habing horses, starting diamonds in the rough and developing a riding school from the ground up. I like to work with the horses thought to be difficult but who are really just frustrated and/or misunderstood. I find a strong willed mare to be most like myself and have been successful training them as I know exactly what they need; lots of respect, kindness, love and patience. It is such a pleasure to see them flourish when all their needs are met.
I started and developed one of the most successful Pony Club Riding Centers in the Country, have competed in 3-Day eventing and specialized in Foxhunters. I am passionate for helping students and horses build a solid foundation for years of riding pleasure.
Luna, a successful Grand Prix Horse imported to the U.S. in 2014 and in the winner’s circle many times in 2015, and Dyson, imported for upper level Show Jumping
Creme de Cassis aka Cassie, started out as a very angry, uncooperative pony but under thoughtful training, achieved her full potential winning Show Jumping Championships, competing in 3-Day Eventing and becoming a qualified Foxhunter
Trinity came to me as a 7 year old western horse with 2 gears; haul butt and stop on a dime. I taught her English style riding and like Cassie, rode her to a Show Jumping Champion, successful 3-Day Eventer and a Qualified Foxhunter
Jasmine was purchased as a school pony but seemed more suited for a private owner. I took her on mock hunts and to shows. She is a fabulously smart pony to work with, I loved training her and still got to train her after she was sold to her current, very loving owner. I love to see awesome horses like this get really good homes.
Traveling with horses to a meet is the one of the funnest things to do! Riding to hounds is such an elegant sport and I always felt like I was in an English painting
Being a part of the United States Pony Club was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. It was such a joy to bring young people to rallys and watch them learning good horsemanship skills, verbal communication, leadership, teamwork and of course having fun riding and competing.
